Welcome

So, who are we…....?

We’re the Scout Network for Abingdon District which is part of Oxfordshire County Scouting. Abingdon Network started in October 2007 and currently has around 15 members from Abingdon, Kingston Bagpuize, Southmoor, Stanford in the Vale and surrounding areas. Our regular venue is ‘The Corner Suite’ at Christchurch in Abingdon just along the road from The Spread Eagle on Northcourt Rd, and we also use our local campsites at Dry Sandford and Youlbury.

So, what is Network…....?

Network is the senior Scout Association section for those between the ages of 18 and 25. Whether you’ve been a member from the beginning (think back to beavers and rainbows!), joined midway, or are looking for something new to try – look no further! The main aims of Network are to have fun, meet new people, try out new things and learn new skills.

Network is run by members for members, with a leader to assist in the running of the group. The group is open to those that want to just be members, or those that are involved in other areas such as leaders with other sections, Campsite Service Team members and Scout Fellowship members.

Whilst a member of Network, you can work towards your Chief Scouts Diamond Award and ultimately the Queen Scouts Award. There is also the opportunity of combining this with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme.

Take a look at the diary to see what the latest programme is, and what network camps are upcoming.
